This past season was a tale of two teams. In the first half, Doug Trout and his team jumped out to a strong lead and never looked back, finishing at 15-3. In the second half, Team Dormer put up a 16-2 record. Obviously the big dogs were going to be out tonight as the two teams squared off in the Championship.
Before the first dart was thrown, two things were already decided.
High Average of the Season went to Ed Dormer as he shot a 41.2
High Game of the Season went to Chrissy Schu for a 56 game.
Tonight’s action began with Team Trout taking down the first game. In the second game, Team Dormer came roaring back shooting a season high team score of 254.
In the bully game, Team Trout jumped out to a lead that they never relinquished. So, I present to you our reigning Champions . . .
(top) Chrissy Schu, Doug Trout, Nate Dobek, Mike Zanella (bottom) Pat M., Josh Mall, Gary Kozak
Congratulations to everyone who shot tonight (unpictured: Aaron, Randy K, Joe Remash, Joe Zaharik). it was a great effort by both teams, and a fitting end to a season filled with fun.
Cheers!!!!
Yesterday was the inaugural running of the Dorko’s Winter Classic dart tournament. The tournament featured 3-man teams with an average cap of 110. During the course of the afternoon, several players were able to elevate their game while the lights were shining.
Ed Dormer led individual shooters with an average of 47.7 on the afternoon. That includes a day-high 57 game. Not far behind was Joe Swatski, who averaged 46.5 with a high game of 56.
Mark Rohlfling also had a good day, averaging 43.8 with a high game of 51.
Individual performances aside, in the end, two teams seemed destined to meet in the finals. And when the dust settled, here’s how things ended.
1st Place - Dennis Conti, Joe Swatski, Young Joe Zaharik
2nd Place - Nate Dobek, Douggie Troutman, Damien Zigler
A big round of congratulations to everyone who was able to make it out and spend the day competing, and a special round of applause the winners! Way to go guys!

Saturday while Penn State was beating up on the Wisconson Badgers (sorry Scrollie), 5 different teams were competing in a round robin dart tournament.
while all the teams were evenly matched, the hot hands of the afternoon belonged to the team of D. Zigler and M Sinkovich. they went through the tournament beating everyone they faced until the gained a lead that could not be overcome by any of the others.
so, a round of congratulations goes out to the winners of the season’s first dart tournament, Zig and Sinko.
comes from, of all places, Joe Paterno. i’m copying this from fanNation.com’s blurb on Joe’s “Road Rage” incident . . .
According to the sources, Paterno said after his close call he pulled his car over to the curb and got out. He then approached the other vehicle and shook his finger at the driver. He warned her to, “Watch it.” “Be careful,” Paterno said. “I have your license number, and I will call the police on you.”
According to the sources, Paterno said a male passenger then walked up and chastised him, saying, “That’s my wife you’re talking to.”
Paterno said, “That’s your problem.”
