To What End?
Posted by: | Commentsthat’s the question Skrully posed last night concerning the Sunday Seniority Clock, as he pondered the vast amounts of effort he put into punching in and out during the fall football viewing season. To What End?
in case you’ve been absent, every Sunday during the NFL season we gathered to watch the games. and, all of the regulars were given the chance to acquire a timecard. when you arrive, you punch in. when you leave, you usually forget to punch out, but sometimes shicky was quick enough to go over and take care of that for you.
i’ve been totaling the times, and in the end we have the following “seniority order”
Tom Spears
Skrully
Johnny Spears
Freddie
Mary
Hookie
Al Cohoon
Chili Dog
Maree Rae
Sammy Ryan
and there are others, but these are your top guys. the “if you want a vacation, you have to see what days they are taking off first” kinda top guys.
we are getting together for championship weekend. the games are at 3:00 and 6:30.
Miller Lite Bottles are $1.50 from open ’til midnight!!
hookie, did you catch that? be sure to tell shicky.
Johnnie is doing pizzas, i’m doing a roast beef, and we’ll have other pickables out. we will also be taking names from a hat for, amoung other things, the Eagles/Bud Light bench. this one . . .
freddie is not included. we will also be giving away some other things, football jerseys, blast from the past football card packs, general fun stuff. the more time you logged, the better your chances. and yes, we’ll do it all during the two halftimes, so we don’t miss any of the action!!
oh, and YES – we will be open for the SUPERBOWL.
Tickets to the Yankees/Orioles – April 24th
Posted by: | Commentsgot on the horn first thing when season/group tickets went on sale for the Orioles, and was happy when I managed to snag 40 tickets for their game versus the New York Yankees on Sunday, April 24th.
the average high temp for baltimore in April is 64.5, and in may it’s 73.9. so last sunday in April ought to be a much more enjoyable temperature than the 90′s that we’ve seen recently.

so, all seemed to be on track for an early adventure to Camden Yards.
then Holly told me that was Easter Sunday!!! (what a Buzzkill. luckily Tanney was doing the Dougie with such style that it cheered me enough to keep the tears at bay.)
eek!!
so, if you are a regular daytripper, stop by the bar and let me know your thoughts on an Easter Sunday balltrip. is it completely insane? is it completely fine? would you love to have Maryland crab cakes for Easter Dinner? there are a couple of ways to go with this. i’m thinking that rescheduling is a very real possibility. but, i want some input!

New Year’s Eve
Posted by: | Commentshas come and gone. but this time around I’d say that everyone who made it to Dorko’s to celberate will remember it, and remember it fondly. for the first time in probably a decade we decided to ring in the new year. there was food and drink a plenty, the Cosmic Wheels rolled out some blues and classic rock, and we all lifted a champagne toast at the stroke of midnight!
here are a couple of scenes from the evening . . .

we’ve even started the new “season”. every time you play Team Trivia, you get your name in the barrel. We’ll be setting up a special team trivia night for St. Patty’s Day where we will pull names from the barrel, and those players will compete for prize packages!
so, the more often you play, the more likely your name will be picked! here are some picts from our Christmas version of Team Trivia. one of the contests was opening a set of gift boxes while wearing oven mitts. inside you’d find another gift box, and inside that i think there was a third gift box. inside of that was a candy that you had to eat. if it sounds hard, it might actually be harder. especially if you have a room full of people cheering you on!

What time is the 4:15 game?
Posted by: | Commentsyes, someone said that out loud this afternoon as a genuine question.
