Dorko’s took the field Sunday before last to do battle on the baseball diamond at the top Bunker Hill. it was a great time! i had heard about the softball games, but didn’t get out to one until the final day of the season.
i snapped some picts throughout the day. starting with the warm ups. Parks, we’re not doing the front nine here today – it’s softball. Get your head in the game!!

Action started out on the upper field, with Dorko’s winning the first game in a Best of three series that led one team to a spot in the finals. After dropping Game #2 on the lower field, we moved back up top to find out whether Dorko’s would be playing for the season title, or grabbing another 30 pack a little ahead of schedule.
a couple of shots of some action in the field . . .

it turns out the we bested A&E in the third game, and were destined for a spot in the title game!!
but, the day was HOT (90 something, that’s plenty hot) and the grind of the game was wearing on players. still, everyone dug deep and put forth their best efforts. after two more games the championship series was tied at one game a piece! Everyone had contributed with sharp plays in the field, and timely hits throughout the day.
here’s a couple of shots from the dugout!

players suffered injuries and played on, muscles got tight, lungs burned, skin burned, but everyone soldiered on in their sixth game of the day under the hot sun. it’s hard to be more proud of a group of guys (and girls!) when the dust settled (and you should have seen chickalet mustering up one hell of a dust cloud) we finished in 2nd Place for the year!
Congratulations Everyone!!
