St. Patty’s Team Trivia
there was plenty of action on Monday. Every team that played won a prize, following the holiday tradition at Team Trivia. Of course only one team could win the big prize, possession of the Trophy for the week and the cash to commemorate victory in the event!
there were definitely plenty of questions that were based on the holiday, from recipes for irish food to the birthplace of St. Patrick. of course people’s brains were taxed on other topics, including a question were the answer was that Shicky is a midget.
throughout the evening fun was in the air. there was a beads conTEST for the ladies. every man playing team trivia was given a set of beads, and the obligation to bestow that set upon one lovely lady playing the game. when the night was done TWO visions of beauty TIED with the same amount of beads!!
during all of the fun, and that included the “pick a pop” game where the pops were actually “Leprecondums” each with their own witty saying on the packaging . . .
three “one of a kind” T Shirts that Larry had made up to commemorate the evening, and prizes going to the teams with the Best St. Patrick’s Day themed team names, there was some room for learning. for instance, the CIA doesn’t think of England or Scotland as their own nations. they’re part of the UK. and according to the Catholic Church, St. Patty was born in scotland, which is part of Britan. much the same way Pennsylvania is part of the United States.
geography questions aside, someone walked away with a one of a kind T shirt for naming 5 of the top shows on television according to the Neilson Ratings system, and someone else won a prize package by naming the State Capitals that have multiple professional sports franchises!
the shooter girls were offering jello cups, and of course the test tubes. a couple of folks got lucky and picked the gold test tube, adding their names to the draw for a FREE PAIR of tickets on the BUS TRIP to Camdan Yards this June!!
and like every week, someone playing trivia had a chance to pick from the Magic Envelope Pile!!
meanwhile, teams were competing. and after four rounds of questions, we still didn’t have a winner. in fact, THREE teams were tied for the top spot, and so we went into tie-breaking mode for the second week in a row!!
but in the end, there can be only one. winner that is, and on St. Patty’s Day it was . . . .
The Rizza!!

Funky Tut
when someone asked the winning team how they did it, i heard one of them respond that “this isn’t just a good-looking hat rack on my shoulders”. that made me chuckle.
indeed last week at trivia there were plenty of folks out doing some big-time competition. it kinda caught me of guard, but looking at the seemingly stacked team by the back dartboard i knew it was ON! guys, i’m telling ya, get a girl and an old dude. or else you’ll always have trouble with things like panty hose sizes and identifying the theme to F-Troop!
as it was, teams battled throughout the night with the game in doubt right up to the very end. in fact, it ended in a tie after regulation!! and so two teams sent one member each to the stage to answer the question . . .
“How many lioncloths were found in the burial chambers of King Tut?”
of course it happened to be that Vic is currently teaching Egyptian history to his students. Unfortunately, he wasn’t concentrating on the important things like the numbers of lioncloths found in the burial chambers of the pharaohs. Both he and Uncle Dwayne put down the same number - 10. So, after four rounds of questions we were tied, and after one round of tie-breaking, we were tied. that’s the first time that has happened at Team Trivia!
on the second opportunity Vic came closer to the correct answer, improving his mark in tie-breaking situations to 7 - 0. there, i’ve put the jinx on that one
and so i offer a photo of the good looking hat racks, errr, I mean the winning team . . .
