Christmas Trivia

By

Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow . . .

knowing the lyrics to that timeless classic was worth points on Monday night at the Christmas version of Team Trivia.  And while everyone knows some (most?) of them, no team was able to name them all!

Other questions of the night included:

What is the only one of Santa’s reindeer that is named after another animal?
What is Randy’s favorite toy in a Christmas Story?
In the animated movie Rudolf the Red-nosed Reindeer, names the ten toys found on the island of misfit toys.

what?  you don’t remember?

of course knocking old memories loose from the corners of your brain is only part of the fun of the evening.  we were celebrating the one year anniversary of Team Trivia!!  so, prizes were in the mix, and that included a ramped up mp3 player with FM radio and voice recording, and a Tom Tom navigation device.

and yes, that’s above the second chance drawing where we pull a second ticket from the bucket.  if you’re playing team trivia and you get pulled during the end of the night ticket draw, you’ll receive an envelope from the batch of magic envelopes.  one of them holds a $50 bill, and the others ALL have a cash prize.

Monday someone walked away with $10 for being lucky and playing.  no skill involved.

speaking of no skill involved, that’s how we gave away the Tom Tom, in a no questions asked manner.  each team gets the chance to “pick a pop” from the tray, and one team gets awarded a chance at the big prize.  how do we pick which team member gets it?

this time Larry outdid himself.  each player from the lucky team was given a pair of oven mitts, and a box covered in gift wrapping.  inside the box was another box covered in gift wrapping.  inside that box was another box covered in gift wrapping?  either that or a pack of reese’s peanut butter cups.  everyone had to unwrap all the boxes with their hands covered in oven mitts to get to the candy.  then whoever took a bite out of the candy first was the official winner.

let me just say that it was quite the sight.  i have it on video, so shoot me an email if you want a copy.

in the meantime, we were actually having a trivia conTest.  the team of “It’s One Year Later and it’s Still Anybody’s Game” came out on top.  Congrats Guys!!
