which means, we have a first half winner.
going into last night’s action, Team Doug was in control of their own destiny. if they swept the night’s games, no one could catch them in the standings.
but, a pair of shooters turned up absent, and the team was unable to overcome that hardship, dropping all three contests. and that put a different face on the entire situation.
team swat jumped on the opportunity to make up some ground in the standings, and took over the lead when it counted most, on the final day. well, at least the final day of the first half. and so . . .
TEAM SWAT takes the FIRST HALF Title
and, at the halfway point in the season, Joe Swat is sitting at the top of the average board as well. the strongest pair of shoulders belongs to Skinner, who is propping up the entire league with his average.
high game of the season seems to be a 53, but that’s subject to change any moment.
and so, after some fine darts, some gutsy team performances, and some great chili from Sandy, we turn the corner on the season and head into second half where anything can happen!
THIS SATURDAY’S TOURNAMENT
YES - it s is true. we’re heading down to the Kroh/Lucas Memorial tournament together in a big team van. it’s a worthy cause, and a great group of travelling companions, so if you’re interested you should definitely go. there’s room on the bus as of right now, flag me down at the bar for details and to make sure it’s not sold out. we leave from the bar saturday at 10 am-ish (that means shortly after 10AM, not doesn’t mean young Joe Zaharick 10 AM-ish).
darts fly at 11, and it’s luck of the draw partners (a high shooter, a middle shooter, and a low shooter). you need to have/take an average, but it’s not about averages. it’s about shooting darts and having a great time!
