this week we had a new winner at the Trivia conTEST. and what a trivia contest it was!
we started the evening with a running math problem:
“A block of wood in the form of a shoebox 4″ × 9″ × 14″ has all its six faces painted pink. If the wooden block is cut into 504 cubes of 1″ × 1″ × 1″, how many of these would have pink paint on them?”
anyone who wanted to take a crack at the answer could, and the winner would get one of the traditional prize packages. Skrully deduced the correct answer, as did the Demansky couple.
congrats guys. there will be more running math quizzes in the future.
meanwhile, on the regular question front, here were a couple from tonight’s list . . .
- What is the lowest ranking Ace in Bridge?
- What is the only US State that ends with the state’s postal abbreviation?
- Name 14 songs from the Grease Soundtrack, including 5 by Sha-na-na (one point for each)
and who was in the house trying to answer these questions you might ask? the ladies and gentlemen from team “Winning this will be easier than playing operation with Michael J Fox”

as far as trivia contests go, in the upcoming weeks we will have the return of Sports Trivia - which is a three man team event, and on Monday July 6th we’re having our “Fourth of July” trivia night with some special prizes in the works.
